Executive Director
Potomac Valley Chapter, The American Institute of Architects, College Park, MD
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for a variety of membership services and programs for 500+ member organization including website management, chapter sponsorships & public relations, outreach programs, editing and publishing a newsletter, contract sales, coordination of monthly Board of Directors’ meetings and financial management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position requires knowledge of non-profit and volunteer management issues; demonstrated previous non-profit experience strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with ability to work independently is a must. The position includes managing a part-time student intern. Proficiency in MS Office and QuickBooks required; WordPress and CVent also preferred. Interest in architecture and exposure to sustainable design is a plus. EOE.
This position is based in the Solar Decathlon Zero Energy nationally award-winning LEAFHouse, in College Park, MD, designed and built by the students at the University of Maryland.

Architect / Architectural Intern
Dewberry Architects Inc., Fairfax, VA
Dewberry Architects is seeking an energetic Architect / Architectural Intern with 5 to 7 years experience. Preferred experience in project types similar to Dewberry Architects including municipal, justice, government and transportation. Must have a professional degree, Bachelor of Architecture or Masters of Architecture degree from an accredited university, recently licensed or has started the IDP process to become licensed. Candidate must be proficient in REVIT and MS Office.
Responsibilities:This position works under close supervision of a PA/PM. Receives specific and detailed instructions regarding tasks. Performs work efforts in a timely and complete manner. Takes the initiative to either work out or research a work effort. Understands his/her capabilities and when to seek help from mentors. Has skills in performing renderings and other design type functions. Has a strong understanding of REVIT and other project software. REVIT proficiency includes 3-5 years of experience with project experience ranging from conceptual through construction and detailing in REVIT is a plus. Qualified candidates should exhibit strong organizational, conceptual design, and good oral and written communication skills. Candidates should also possess a positive attitude, an outstanding work ethic and be team-oriented.
Qualifications: A professional degree in Architecture is required, along with 5 – 7 years of experience and demonstrated REVIT experience.

Summer Intern
